Senior Survey Data Technician

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Senior Survey Data Technician to join our team.

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Sr Survey Data Technician to join our team and play a key role in supporting field survey crews, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining our survey standards. This position offers the opportunity to mentor junior technicians, manage deliverables, and work tools like Autodesk Civil 3D.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate and oversee Survey team task lists to ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
• Review and approve survey data and deliverables in line with client and project requirements.
• Maintain and improve survey standards, codes, templates, and documentation.
• Mentor and guide junior Survey Data Technicians and interns.
• Support survey crew data processing using Microsoft Office and Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Communicate regularly with field personnel to maintain data standards.
• Partner with Project Leads to understand data needs, provide status updates, and resolve challenges.
• Perform drafting and design tasks in Autodesk Civil 3D, including plans, layouts, assemblies, and detail drawings.
• Maintain accurate archives of designs, drawings, and revision histories.
• Understand and support overall project goals, timelines, and constraints.
• Represent the survey team professionally when interacting with clients, contractors, and landowners.
• Follow all company and client safety procedures.
  
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Associate’s degree in civil Survey, Drafting & Design, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 plus years of experience in survey
• Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of GIS and document management principles.
• Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new software.
• Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and ethical practices.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to pass DOT and company-required drug/alcohol testing.

Lake Superior Consulting offers a competitive compensation package. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated range for this position is $33-$50 per hour.
