Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at the Snyder, NY branch. This position supports daily branch operations, including overseeing customer service activities, assisting with teller line supervision, and ensuring accurate and efficient processing of deposits, withdrawals, and loan-related transactions. The Assistant Manager helps lead and coach branch staff, monitors compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements, and supports the Branch Manager in meeting sales and service goals. This role also involves building strong customer relationships, resolving escalated issues, promoting bank products and services, and contributing to community outreach efforts. The Assistant Manager collaborates with internal teams to maintain a secure, well-organized branch environment and delivers a consistent, positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in retail banking or financial services, including branch operations, customer service, and basic lending activities.
- Strong leadership and people-management abilities, with skills in coaching, performance feedback, and team motivation.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, colleagues, and community partners.
- Proficiency in basic math, cash handling, and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing and recordkeeping.
- Ability to understand and apply banking regulations, compliance requirements, and internal policies.
- Comfort with banking software, Microsoft Office applications, and learning new systems and tools.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills in a fast-paced branch environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
