Lake Region Healthcare is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) involved in the administration of anesthesia and related services to all age groups, (including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatrics,) as delineated by the clinical and non-clinical responsibilities described herein.
As part of our independent, all-CRNA practice, the successful candidate will benefit from substantial clinical autonomy and a high degree of professional responsibility. This role requires the candidate to provide services across the entire Enterprise including our Fergus Falls, Elbow Lake and Morris campuses. The ideal candidate brings independent experience in regional anesthesia including spinal, epidural, and ultrasound-guided nerve blocks.
This position reports directly to the Anesthesiology Director. The CRNA has contact with hospital employees, prospective employees, volunteers, community personnel, manufacturer representatives, pharmaceutical representatives, administration, students, trainees, and physicians. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position. The incumbent has access to sensitive, confidential information and must be able to maintain those confidences. The incumbent establishes the work procedures and priorities within imposed deadlines.
NOTE: CRNA’s are responsible for seeking clinical privileges that appropriately reflect their educational preparation, clinical experience, and level of professional competence. It is incumbent upon CRNA’s to maintain knowledge of current scientific theories, principles, and techniques related to the field of anesthesia and their current practice situation.
Individual clinical privileges should be delineated regardless of the contractual or employment relationship that exist with the practice setting and will be reviewed biannually through individualized position descriptions. The privilege-granting process should incorporate results of quality assurance and risk management activities.
Hours/Shifts
80 hours biweekly. Mixed Day/Night shifts, approximately 5-6 call weekends/year, and a weekday call rotation (approximately one weekday call shift per pay period). Call will not be scheduled until after orientation period is completed.
Compensation
$130.36/hour with an increase to $136.96/hour upon successful completion of the orientation period. The candidate will be required to work out of all Enterprise locations including Fergus Falls, Elbow Lake and Morris. Compensation for mileage will be provided when the CRNA works outside of their main work location.

Qualifications:
- Education/Special Skills: Minnesota RN license required (CRNA). Minnesota APRN license and NBCRNA certification required upon hire. Graduation from an approved program of nurse anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. This position requires BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification upon hire.
- Three years of experience with an independent practice, preferred. The ideal candidate brings independent experience in regional anesthesia including spinal, epidural, and ultrasound-guided nerve blocks.
- Motivated new graduates with demonstrated clinical skill and strong interest in practicing independently will be considered.
- Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
- Mental Demands: Ability to work, understanding that failure during performance of job duties may result in serious consequences to the patient. Must be able to provide anesthesia services described within the clinical privilege’s delineation form to patients of all ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatrics. Must be able to work with a variety of personalities both in patient and staff members. Must be alert at all times to detect unfavorable symptoms that might occur while the patient in anesthetized. Must be tactful and sympathetic in dealing with patients.
- Hours may vary in length and regularity. Must be willing and able to attend all Enterprise work sites as scheduled and to work a rotating call schedule. Must be willing to work overtime hours and be available for phone consultation, while on call. Work sites include our Fergus Falls, Elbow Lake and Morris campuses.
- Verification of the absence of mental, physical, and other problems which could interfere with the safe practice of anesthesia as defined within.
Salary : $130 - $137
