Rec I - Camp Counselor

Lake of the Pines Homeowners Association (LOP) is accepting applications for the position of Kids Camp Counselor. We are looking for qualified applicants for our 2026 kids camp season for the months of June – August. Under supervision, the Kids Camp Counselor assists in the planning and implementation of Kids Camp youth activities as well as lead group events, monitor the campers and immediately respond to incidents. Lake of the Pines is a 2,000-home gated private community located in the foothills of Northern California between the towns of Auburn and Grass Valley. This is a Seasonal position with a salary range of $16.90 - $19.22 per hour. Pre-employment background search, if applicable, required following conditional offer of employment.

Essential duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist Kids Camp Coordinator with Kids Summer Day Camp program including but not limited to planning, setup, implementation, and closure.
• Provide high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experience for camp participants.
• Supervise campers and ensure their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
• Organizes and lead various small and large group activities and maintain a predictable schedule for the campers.
• Maintain equipment and property assigned to department.
• Enforce all rules as established by the Association.
• Recognize and respond quickly to emergencies, provide first aid, care for injuries and always perform such activities within scope of training.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and pleasant atmosphere in all recreation areas.
• Maintain storage rooms in a safe and orderly fashion.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and take direction.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Must be age 16 or older with a valid work permit if applicable.
• Enjoys being in the company of children and providing opportunities for their enjoyment and education. Able to maintain composure and patience with children.
• CPR/First Aid Certified.
• Fingerprinting and background check required.
• Move/ lift up to 25 pounds.
• Open availability and able to work during the schedule described above. 
• Ability to work well independently with integrity and as part of a team.

Salary : $17 - $19
