Job Description

Supervises students assigned to ISS, ensures they complete academic work to stay on track, and maintains a structured, orderly environment. Key duties include communicating with teachers and administrators about student progress and behavior, implementing school policies, and fostering positive behavior and self-reflection. The role requires strong behavior management skills, clear communication, and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations to help students return to their regular classrooms successfully.

A Paraprofessional Certificate is required. An individual must be employed as a Paraprofessional in a Georgia local unit of administration (LUA) in order to qualify for a Paraprofessional license. In addition to employment, the applicant must meet one of the following qualifications:
Hold an associate’s degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution; OR, have completed 2 years (60 semester hours) of college coursework at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution.
Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
If you are interested in obtaining a Paraprofessional license, you must first seek employment with a Georgia school. Your certification application package will be submitted by your employer.

Salary/Terms
190 day contract
$24,612.00/Annually
