Lake Norman Christian School (LKNC)
Hiring for Multiple Subject Areas for the 2026–2027 School Year

Due to school-wide growth, LKNC is expanding our academic program and adding additional classrooms for the upcoming year. As part of this exciting expansion, we will be hiring additional Upper School teachers across various subject areas.

Lake Norman Christian School is experiencing a season of blessing and increased enrollment, and we are seeking passionate, spiritually grounded educators who desire to disciple students, pursue academic excellence, and contribute meaningfully to a thriving Christian school community.

Position Summary

Upper School teachers at LKNC foster a Christ-centered, academically rigorous learning environment that challenges and supports students as they mature spiritually, intellectually, and personally. Teachers are expected to deliver high-quality instruction in their subject area, integrate biblical truth throughout the curriculum, and invest in the lives of students as mentors and role models.

Spiritual & Mission Alignment Requirements

  • Must be a born-again Christian whose lifestyle, values, and conduct reflect obedience to God and alignment with Scripture.
  • Must wholeheartedly support the school’s doctrinal statement, Christian philosophy of education, and biblical worldview integration.
  • Must serve as a positive Christian role model for students, families, and colleagues.
  • Must possess sufficient biblical knowledge to integrate Scripture meaningfully into academic subject areas.
  • Must faithfully attend a local church whose fundamental beliefs align with LKNC’s Statement of Faith.
  • Must affirm that serving as a teacher at LKNC is consistent with God’s calling and represents faithful stewardship of one’s gifts, time, and abilities.
  • Must have a heart for working with middle and high school students and supporting their spiritual formation.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in the relevant teaching discipline or education field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for adolescent learners.
  • Demonstrated expertise in subject-area content (e.g., English, Math, Science, History, Bible, World Languages, Electives).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective classroom management and cultivate a respectful, engaged learning environment.
  • All new teachers must obtain temporary ACSI certification within six (6) months of employment to be eligible for contract renewal.
  • Continuing teachers must maintain current ACSI certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Superior interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to mentor students in both academic and spiritual growth.
  • Ability to design and deliver instruction that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • Proficiency with technology and instructional tools appropriate to middle and high school classrooms.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including mastery of standard English usage.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Strong work ethic with high levels of initiative and responsibility.
  • Effective multitasking and time-management abilities in a dynamic school setting.
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding schedule, teaching methods, course assignments, and school initiatives.
  • Physical stamina to meet the demands of teaching at the secondary level.

Pay: $39,500.00 - $45,000.00 per year
