Season Dates: February 16 – May 30 (concludes with State Championship)
Practice/Home Game Location: North Meck Park
Practice Schedule: Monday – Friday, 4:00–6:00 PM

Job Summary:
Lake Norman Charter is seeking a dedicated and experienced Varsity Softball Head Coach to lead and develop our high school softball program. The Head Coach will be responsible for fostering a positive team culture, teaching fundamental and advanced skills, and preparing student-athletes to compete at a high level both on and off the field.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the varsity softball program.
- Plan and conduct daily practices and training sessions.
- Develop and implement game strategies and player development plans.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, discipline, accountability, and sportsmanship.
- Supervise assistant coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, athletic department, and school administration.
- Ensure compliance with school, conference, and state athletic regulations.
- Promote academic success and character development for all student-athletes.
- Manage equipment, uniforms, and program needs within athletic department guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Prior coaching experience (head coach or assistant at the high school, club, or college level preferred).
- Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Ability to teach, mentor, and motivate high school student-athletes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Must meet all certification and training requirements set by the school, conference, and state.
