Lake Mission Viejo Association is a private HOA that includes approximately 25,000 households and 100,000 members. The facility has been in operation for 45 years, and includes a 125 acre lake and 50 acres of parkland. We offer many amenities to our members such as picnic areas with tables and barbeques overlooking sand beaches; two swim areas; basketball and volleyball courts; a marina with launch ramp and boat rental operation; fishing; boating; summer concerts and special events; and a Clubhouse with a beautiful lake view.
Position Summary:
This position is part-time, non-exempt and works under the general supervision of the Gate Supervisor. The Gate Attendant is responsible for greeting, screening, and admitting members to the Association facilities. This position serves as an important source of information as the first point of contact to members and their guests. The Gate Attendant provides prompt, accurate, and courteous services to members and their guests, internal customers, external vendors, and applicants, and helps provide a safe and enjoyable recreational environment for members and their guests.

Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
- Greet members and screen their membership ID cards in a friendly and professional manner
- Assists with daily opening and/or closing procedures
- Works with Membership Department to ensure members' ID cards are current
- Issues temporary ID cards for members who have lost or forgot to bring their ID cards
- Sells guest and fishing passes
- Provides up-to-date information about the Association to members and guests including, hours of operation, events, fish stockings, basic membership information, and policies
- Maintains the gate hours in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
- Reports problem situations, including potential issues, to supervisors as members and guests enter the facility at the gates
- Mediates disputes with members regarding facility entrance. Calls supervisor or manger-on-duty to resolve escalated disputes.
- Attends monthly safety training facilitated by a department supervisor
- May perform traffic control for members and guests exiting the facility during summer events
Hours per week: Off Season - up to 24 hours; Summer - up to 40 hours
Availability Needed: Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoon, evenings, rotating shifts, holidays, concerts, and special events.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- While performing the duties of the Gate Attendant position, the individual is regularly required to stand or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear, and walk. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
- The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; cleaning agents; and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be loud during concerts.
