Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to uphold high standards of cleanliness.
- Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely following established safety protocols to ensure a healthy environment.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Monitor and restock janitorial supplies and consumables throughout the facility to ensure continuous availability.
- Maintain facilities by reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly for timely resolution.
- Support general custodial duties including window cleaning, light maintenance tasks like residential painting touch-ups, and assisting with minor repairs as needed.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures is essential.
- Experience operating floor buffers and other cleaning equipment demonstrates your ability to perform specialized floor care tasks effectively.
- Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence during heavy lifting, chemical use, and general maintenance activities is required.
- Customer service skills are valuable for interacting professionally with staff and visitors while maintaining a clean environment.
- Previous porter experience or facilities maintenance background will be considered an asset for this role.
