What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursery/Garden Center Team Member position at LAKE KOUNTRY?
Part and Full Time Positions Available Depending Upon Qualifications & Hours Desired
Expectations:
- Exceptional Customer Service Skills are a necessity in all Lake Kountry, Inc. Team Members. Team Members are expected to always offer customers a warm and sincere greeting, effectively listen and determine their individual needs, then ultimately accomplish those needs. This is implemented both in person and on the phone.
- Previous knowledge and passion for plants and gardening in general is required. Must be able to assist and inspire customers to effectively choose plants, gift/gardening items, landscaping supplies and materials. We encourage our Team Members to engage their current skills and expand their wisdom through various training opportunities.
- Enjoy caring for and maintaining plants by planting/transplanting, watering, fertilizing, pruning and deadheading as needed
- Use creativity in helping to design and setup displays in the garden center, nursery and greenhouse areas as requested
- Take pride in keeping all areas of the company clean and organized. This includes offices, garden/gift center, nursery areas, greenhouses and all outdoor spaces and buildings
- Possess the ability to process all customer transactions, including cash, check and credit card purchases quickly and accurately
- Be enthusiastic, compassionate and caring towards customers and other team members at all times
- Must have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, honest and trustworthy
- Office, social media/online marketing skills a plus.
- Experience operating a skid steer, or willingness to learn how to operate one to load customers’ trucks or trailers with bulk materials.
Other Conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions
- Must be able to work weekends as needed
- A valid Driver’s License is required
