Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Loan Officer to join our team. In this vital role, you will guide members through the loan process, assess their financial needs, and ensure compliance with lending regulations. Your expertise will help empower our members to achieve their financial goals while maintaining the integrity of our lending practices.
Duties
- Facilitate loan origination by assessing member applications and determining eligibility based on established criteria
- Guide members through the loan process, explaining terms, conditions, and repayment options clearly
- Review loan documentation for accuracy and compliance with federal regulations such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act) and contractual agreements
- Process loan applications efficiently using financial software and perform basic math calculations to verify figures
- Ensure all loan contracts are properly prepared, signed, and stored according to company policies
- Maintain thorough records of all transactions, including 10 key typing for data entry accuracy
- Collaborate with team members to meet departmental goals and improve service delivery
Experience
- Proven experience in loan origination or a similar role within financial services
- Strong knowledge of loan processing procedures and regulatory requirements such as TILA
- Familiarity with financial software systems used in lending operations
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for loan analysis
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex information clearly to members
- Prior experience working with contracts, documentation, and compliance standards is preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
