Job Summary
Service Advisor
Acts as the primary liaison between boat owners and service manager and service technicians. They greet customers, document repair needs, generate cost estimates, and manage work orders to ensure boats are maintained safely and efficiently.
Core responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Customer Service & Intake: Greeting customers, listening to boating concerns, and explaining repair procedures, costs, and timelines in clear, non-technical language.
- Work Order Management: Creating accurate work orders using dealership management software, in order to ensure technicians are completing all possible work per customers expectations, performing on going work order audit / maintain and organize open work orders
- Estimates & Approvals: Shopping for parts, providing accurate pricing, securing customer approvals for both diagnosis and repairs, and processing warranties.
- Coordination: Scheduling sublet contractors, ordering marine parts, and communicating progress updates to customers.
- Quality Assurance & Delivery: Inspecting completed work prior to delivery, finalizing invoices, and processing payments.
- Dealership drop off and pick up plan: contacting customers prior to their scheduled appointment via text/phone call to show them where to park their boat on the trailer or what dock space to dock the boat and explain the importance of securing the boat to the dock correctly with dock fenders and utilizing 6 ropes.
· Parts Responsibilities: Assist customers in identifying and purchasing the correct marine parts and accessories, recommend products that improve the boating experience, receive, stock, organize, and merchandise inventory, process special orders, returns, and warranty parts, assist with inventory counts and inventory accuracy initiatives
Shared Responsibilities:
- Build lasting relationships with customers and boating enthusiasts
- Help customers maximize their time on the water
- Utilize Winboats and dealership systems to document customer interactions
- Support dealership goals related to customer satisfaction, service excellence, and profitability
- Contribute to a positive team environment focused on growth and continuous improvement
What we are looking for:

- Ability to learn technical product and service information
- Comfortable recommending products, accessories, and services to customers
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Experience: Previous experience as a service advisor or service writer in the marine, automotive, or powersports industries would be preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: A solid foundational understanding of marine engines, boat systems, and preventative maintenance is beneficial
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, time management, and the ability to multitask and manage over 100 work orders at any given time
- Marine industry experience preferred but not required

Pay: $50,639.64 - $60,985.38 per year
