Facility Manager (FM) Lake Guntersville Yacht Club (LGYC)
Duty Location: 498 Yacht Club Drive, Guntersville, Al 35979
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: Negotiable dependent upon experience/qualifications and whether the candidate chooses to live on-site.
Education: High School minimum. Advanced education, military, or work-trade/technical training highly desired.
Experience/Background: Ten years of any work experience with 5 years being in a supervisory, lead or management position serving in a maintenance supervisor/lead role, construction supervisor/crew lead, marina manager or marina maintenance lead, school or plant maintenance supervisor are ideal candidates; however, any relevant experience will be considered. Experience in a marine or waterfront environment (preferred). Strong organizational and problem-solving skills (preferred). Working knowledge of building systems, basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance (preferred). Experience showing ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities (preferred).
Major Duties:
- Leadership and Management: This is the senior staff leadership position and primary interface for the members of the club. It is also the primary interface for contractors and visitors on-site as well as service contractors performing routine activities on-site. Incumbent also supervises subordinate employees and hourly part time help.
- Club Security, Maintenance, and Repairs: This a working position. Incumbent must be able to perform and supervise and inspect minor repairs on club properties and facilities. General knowledge and ability in carpentry trades, electrical and minor plumbing repairs are required.
Physical Demands: This is NOT a sedentary position. 50% of time will typically be spent outdoors year-round. Job involves manual labor; routine lifting of up to 50lbs, extensive walking on uneven surfaces; working with pool chemical, industrial cleaners, fuels, paints, solvents and oils.
