Overview
Lake Guntersville State Park is seeking a dependable and professional Front Gate Security Guard to monitor the park entrance during evening and overnight hours. This position is responsible for controlling after-hours access, documenting guest entry and exit, assisting late-arriving guests, communicating with park staff by radio, and helping maintain a safe and orderly entrance area.
This is a front-line position requiring good judgment, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to interact with guests in a calm, courteous, and professional manner.
Duties
- Manage access control by verifying identification and authorizing entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
- Enforce security policies by managing conflicts calmly and professionally, de-escalating situations when necessary.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or incidents requiring external assistance.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incident reports, and security checks to ensure accurate record-keeping.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and interaction with team members and the public.
