The Role of the Underwriting Coordinator

The Underwriting Coordinator supports the CEO and the Operations Manager, offering an expedient and professional experience for families and small businesses who are completing necessary underwriting requirements to become Lake Growth clients. This is a hybrid, full-time W-2 position in the Fox Valley (Illinois).

Requirements for this position

• Proximity to the Fox Valley in Illinois
• Valid IL Driver’s License and working vehicle

Responsibilities

• Report to the Operations Manager of Lake Growth to keep current on Tasks and Activities on CRM.
• Be the front “face” of Lake Growth to existing and prospective clients presenting an excellent first impression, on email, on the phone and in person.
• Must dress professionally in business casual attire.
• Respond to inquiries promptly and follow-up to ensure timely implementation.
• Must be able to work independently and be available at a moment’s notice for calls from Lake Growth team members.
• Must follow confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines, protecting client privacy.
• Follow common sense, pay attention to the details and follow instructions.

Job Activities

• Listen to, thank, respect, warmly welcome and honor all clients. Must maintain client and company confidentiality; this position requires HIPAA compliance.
• Work with clients in filling out detailed financial applications virtually online and over the phone. Process applications and report weekly to the CEO on the status of each.
• Place orders for life insurance underwriting medical exams and ensure utmost privacy of both financial and health data. (Training included).
• Follow-up with clients to complete and return unfinished paperwork.
• Work closely with a variety of stakeholders (Insurance Companies, Financial Associates, and Advisors) and provide support services and follow-up on results.
• Collaboratively problem solve and troubleshoot and think creatively on how to get a client from application to approval in as short a time as possible. (Bonuses based on performance after training period.)
• Be the “face” of Lake Growth to clients as they go through underwriting, presenting an excellent first impression, on email, on the phone, et cetera.
• Respond to inquiries promptly and follow-up on new business that we have submitted to ensure timely implementation.
• Work in a highly organized and detail-oriented manner and pay close attention.

Business Support

• Collaborate with the Operations Team.
• Receive and process applications for financial products.
• Maintain workflow and current client/prospect status on the CRM database.
• File management and organization, including digital processing, paper processing and mail as needed.

Work environment needs to be quiet and professional. Clients and coworkers must be treated with honor, care, respect and appreciation. Must be reachable by mobile phone and video conference. Occasional in person meetings (our meetings are mostly virtual).

You Can Expect

Daily touch points with the CEO and Operations Manager for updates, questions and clarifications. Weekly status / coaching meetings. 90 Day (Quarterly) evaluation meetings with officers. May work virtually. Materials (computer, phone, office supplies, etc.) provided. Timely pay with benefits. W-4 slip prepared. An excellent, growing business context.

Compensation

This is a 40 hour a week position (M-F from either 8AM-5PM OR 7AM-4PM with a one hour lunch break). Competitive hourly $20-25/hr plus monthly bonuses. Paid holidays. Additional health benefits available.
