As a Payroll Accountant, you will provide support to the Assistant Finance Director and entire Finance team by:
Primary Duties include:
Processing bi-weekly payrolls for both the City and Library, including transferring direct deposits and tax payments to the IRS and preparing annual W-2 ‘s
Maintaining individual benefits for each employee
Completing payroll related schedules for the annual budget and provide support to other departments in the City
Completing payroll schedules for the annual audits
Additional Duties include:
Assisting with financial audits
Preparing monthly journal entries
Providing backup to the alternate Staff Accountant and other department positions as needed including the front counter customer service
Assisting with special projects within the Finance department
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university with a major in accounting or related field
1-3 years’ experience in accounting, preferably municipal services
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
Exceptional communication with residents and staff
Proficient in all Microsoft Office products
Knowledge of BS&A Financial Software is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $80,406.04 - $111,652.46 DOQ
Insurance: Medical (PPO/HMO), dental, vision
