Third Shift Production Inspector

Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM,

Hourly Pay: $18.96 per hour (includes third shift differential)

We are a growing, family-owned food manufacturing company located in the Ashland area. We currently operate production on first and third shifts, with sanitation on second shift. Position Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented and reliable individuals to join our third shift production team as an Inspector. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality and food safety by monitoring production lines, inspecting products for defects, and ensuring finished goods meet company and customer standards.

The Inspector position is well-suited for individuals who are attentive, observant, and comfortable performing repetitive inspection tasks in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. While prior manufacturing or quality experience is helpful, we are committed to training individuals who demonstrate strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to follow established procedures.

Candidates must be able to remain on their feet for extended periods, maintain focus throughout the shift, and comply with strict food safety, PPE, and dress code requirements. This role requires effective communication with Operators and Supervisors, as well as the ability to work independently while supporting overall production flow.

Pay & Shift Differential

Hourly Pay: $18.96 per hour - This position is paid at a base hourly rate plus an additional third shift differential. The hourly rate listed reflects the combined total compensation for third shift hours worked.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and GMP requirements at all times
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area throughout the shift
  • Safely operate production equipment, tools, and line components as required
  • Inspect products continuously to ensure quality meets company and customer standards
  • Identify defects, non-conforming product, or quality concerns and take appropriate action
  • Properly place raw materials onto conveyors to maintain consistent product flow
  • Actively listen to and observe production line operation and conditions to detect irregularities
  • Promptly report equipment malfunctions, product contamination, or quality issues to supervision
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly for all assigned tasks
  • Follow instructions, work assignments, and direction provided by supervisors and management

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for periods of up to 3 hours between breaks
  • Visual acuity sufficient to identify product defects, inconsistencies, or non-conforming materials
  • Manual dexterity in hands and arms to remove defects, space product, and perform repetitive inspection tasks
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment

Qualifications (Preferred, Not Required)

  • Prior experience in food production or manufacturing
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP, or GMPs
  • Mechanical aptitude
