Primary Purpose:
Responsible for coordinating compliance with the federal and state assessment system and Section 504 requirements.

Valid Texas Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
5 years classroom teaching experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participate in district-level decision-making process to establish and review the district’s goals and objectives.
- Actively support the efforts of others to achieve district goals and campus performance objectives.
- Assist in providing effective staff development activities that incorporate the mission of the district, program evaluation outcomes, and input from teachers and others.
- Assist in the implementation of policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of curriculum and instruction.
- Compile, maintain, and present all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Provide district wide testing and data analysis.
- Maintain and collect auditable documentation for state accountability testing as well as review materials for return.
- Serve as the district Section 504 Coordinator for student services working collaboratively with campus 504 coordinators and administrators.
- Set forth operational guidelines for Section 504 procedures.
- Develop and ensure the implementation of procedures and requirements for identifying and providing educational and related services to those students who have disabilities.
- Provides annual training and on-going support to district staff regarding Section 504 and the implementation of Section 504 procedures.
- Collect and maintain all Section 504 student data for future reference.
- Maintain a campus database of 504 students throughout the district.
- Ensure 504 Campus Coordinators solve problems as they relate to parents, students, or teachers regarding 504.
- Work with campus administrators in choosing appropriate staff for Campus 504 Coordinator positions, including serving as a campus coordinator themselves when needed..
- Coordinate with special education, dyslexia, RtI and ESL departments, regarding procedures for proper identification and placement of 504 students.
- Communicate with other districts regarding 504 students enrolling or withdrawing.
- Stay current with all federal laws regarding Section 504.
- Demonstrate responsible fiscal control over assigned program budgets.
- Perform other duties, as assigned, including but not limited to serving as the LEA representative for ARD meetings.
