Shift: Monday - Friday, 12:00pm - 5:00pm
Pay Rate: $17.50 starting rate and a FREE Family YMCA membership
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Troubleshoot and make necessary repairs in areas including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pools, dry wall, painting, structural, and fitness equipment.
- Inspect property daily including grounds, building, outside areas, inside/outside lighting, and public areas to ensure curb appeal, safety, and operational requirements.
- Performs preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance and complete repair work and projects in a timely manner.
- Perform, as-needed, cleaning of the facility and premises including trash/debris removal, emptying receptacles, power washing shower areas, as well as seasonal activities involving lawn care, snow removal, and general cleaning.
- Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
- Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
- Ensure YMCA building and property is secure during shift, and report incidents and hazardous conditions to the Regional Facilities Director.
- Available for weekend work, on-call duties, and after-hours emergency requests, as needed.
- Responsible to order and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment
- Occasionally support other branch locations.
- Other maintenance duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three or more years or more of related experience.
- Successfully complete Certified Pool Operator certification within the first 120 days of employment.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, blueprints, and other documents.
- Technical or vocational education is a plus.
- Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Medium work. Exerting 50 pounds of force rarely, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- The worker may be subject to noise.
- Frequently subject to environmental conditions- heat and humidity both inside and outside.
- Ability to: stand, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching frequently throughout the work shift; occasionally ascends/ descends a ladder; walking on a variety of uneven surfaces and climbing stairs frequently; have visual acuity to determine safety and cleanliness of facility; receive information through sound as well as express through spoken word; read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents; frequently working with chemicals and cleaning supplies.
