Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance information, and manage patient intake processes with accuracy and professionalism
- Perform preliminary testing including auto-refraction, optos, tonometry, and visual fields
- Obtain and record patient medical and ocular history
- Prepare patients for examination and assist the optometrist as needed
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion/removal and care
- Maintain exam rooms and ensure equipment is clean and calibrated
- Accurately enter data into electronic health records (EHR)
- Assist with managing front desk operations including scheduling appointments, answering phone inquiries, processing payments, and verifying insurance
- Deliver excellent patient care and customer service
Skills
- Previous experience as an optometric technician preferred (training available for the right candidate)
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained consistently
- Ability to perform intake procedures accurately while demonstrating excellent communication skills
- Experience working with EMR systems such as RevolutionEHR or similar platforms for medical records management
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills for managing front desk duties alongside clinical responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of medical coding and billing processes related to optometry services

- Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Thursday: 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
