We are seeking an elementary music instructor, grades K-2, for the 2025-2026 school year.
Job Title: Music Instructor
Work Days: 179 Contract Days; Follows the LCSD Calendar
- Position is for the 2025-2026 school year only.
Compensation: excellent benefits - health, dental, vision insurance and paid time off!
Instructor: paid as instructional paraprofessional at $20.35-25.50/hour ($29,141-36,516) for 179 days. Placement schedule here. FLSA: Exempt with excellent benefits - Health, Dental, Vision and Life insurance plus PTO!
Supervisor: Elementary Principal
Primary purpose:
Contributing to our school as part of our CREW involves teaching a dynamic, comprehensive curriculum throughout the day. Relationships, student-led learning, safety, and data driven instruction are fundamental components to helping each student grow to their capacity. We believe in providing a high quality, equitable education for all students in any of our classrooms. At LCES, we love our students so much that we challenge them and set high expectations!
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing learning activities which correspond to the music standards, and ideally, to the content being taught in the classroom – for grades K, 1 and 2.
- Backwards planning while maintaining an intentional focus on the standards and student achievement
- Working with vertical music teachers for continuity of content
- Working with other specials instructors to best meet the needs of the whole child at LCES
- Developing strong relationships with each student to foster a sense of Crew based on mutual trust and respect
- Adhering to the LCES Common Classroom Expectations
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Developing lesson plans and instructional materials
- Evaluating students’ academic and social growth in relation to music achievement and keeping appropriate records
- Providing differentiated instruction based on linguistic, academic, and social-emotional needs and providing comprehensible instruction for all students
- Communicating with parents through conferences, email, notes, and in-person to discuss students’ progress
- Supervising students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day (recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, etc.)
- Professional Development (PD), Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), Staff Meetings, Observation & Feedback, and other collaborative teams for the benefit of the school
- Plans and implements a musical concert no less than once per year to demonstrate student growth and achievement in music.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- GED or high school diploma
- Colorado Substitute License (District will pay for this)
- Pass required fingerprint test and eligible to work in the US
- Love for art and elementary education
- Demonstrated competency in the classroom
- Strong interpersonal skills and computer proficiency
- Experience with students who are Multilingual/Bilingual proficiency preferred

Salary : $20 - $26
