What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant High School Cross Country Coach position at Lake County Intermediate School?
Stipend Amount: Starts at $1,863/year; follows coaching salary schedule
Supervisor: Head HS Cross Country Coach and Athletic Director
Estimated time commitment: 10-20 hours per week during the season (The official season is August 10- October 31.)
Detailed description of duties/responsibilities:
- Run with athletes
- Attend practices Monday-Thursday 4:00-5:30 pm, Friday mornings
- Supervise athletes at meets and on the bus traveling to and from those events
- Build a positive team environment
- Promote physical fitness, nutrition, mental toughness and sportsmanship
- Available to work afternoons, evenings and weekends, and be willing to travel with the team to different locations for meets
- Available to help with summer morning runs
- Get certified to drive a school vehicle and sometimes drive for practices/meets
- Other duties as assigned by the head coach
Special qualifications, if any:
- Experience with distance running
- Experience coaching, preferred
- Experience working with high school students, preferred
