IT Supervisor

The Supervisor of Information Technology reports directly to the Supervisor of Elections and is critical in implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting technology systems & equipment that enable the Office of the Lake County Clerk to successfully conduct elections. The Supervisor of Information Technology also is responsible for managing the warehouse team which coordinates the logistics of delivering and returning all election equipment to all polling sites for every election. The Supervisor will be proficient in information systems with experience in asset management.

Essential Functions

• Department Liaison with Lake County IT, submit System Access Requests (SARs) and coordinate IT projects within Office of the Lake County Clerk.
• General IT support– workstations, printers, credit card machine.
• Manage Teams Voice – phone extensions, call queues, equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance and updates with technology vendors (DFM, Tenex, ES&S).
• Setup and test election servers each election.
• Update and identify equipment to be used for election on State Board of Election IVRS website.
• Conduct logic and accuracy testing pursuant to the Illinois Election Code per election.
• Setup and test Pollbooks and related equipment for every election.
• Setup and update Election Night Reporting website for every election.
• Verify that all results have been transmitted/received on Election Night.
• Answer dispatch calls for election eve and election day.
• Prepare and conduct retabulation and document results for State Board of Election.
• Coordinate with Enterprise IT to open firewall for voters overseas pursuant to federal law.
• Asset management and maintenance of all election equipment.
• Support general office operations, as assigned.

• Possession of a bachelor’s, master’s accredited college or university, preferred but not required if a candidate has commensurate job experience
• 5-10 years of full-time work in a supervisory or director level role
• 5-10 years of work in information technology with experience in Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of election systems strongly preferred
• Valid driver’s license
