Supervisor: Head HS Football Coach and Athletic Director

 

Estimated time commitment:   10-20 hours per week, depending on the season (The official season is August 10 through October.) 

 

Detailed description of duties/responsibilities:

  • Teach fundamental skills, theory and strategy with emphasis on safety
  • Attend practices Monday-Thursday 4-5:30 pm during regular season 
  • Supervise athletes at games and on the bus traveling to and from those events
  • Work with the head high school coach to create a unified school football program
  • Build a positive team environment
  • Promote physical fitness and sportsmanship
  • Available to work afternoons, evenings and weekends, and be willing to travel with the team to different locations for games
  • Complete the coach certifications required by CHSAA and the school district
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with parents and athletes
  • Responsible for organization of uniforms, helmets, pads and other equipment

Special qualifications, if any:

  • Experience coaching, especially with middle school athletes, preferred 
  • Knowledge of the game of football

  7. Ability to react well under pressure, handle and balance multiple demands at one time, work with frequent interruptions, and perform duties and tasks at expected levels of professionalism.
  8. Knowledge of and ability to perform duties in full compliance with all district, Board of Education, state and federal laws, methods, requirements, policies, procedures, and activities pertinent to the duties of this position. 
  9. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. 
  10. Ability to use independent judgment and demonstrates initiative to act without being asked.
