Duties:
- Provide daily care for the dogs housed in the kennels used for sheltering impounded stray and unlicensed dog, including feeding and watering.
- Maintain accurate records of animal intake, discharge, medication administration, and behavior observations
- Handle dogs safely during transportation within the facility and assist with animal restraint when showing to the public
- Perform tasks such as bathing, grooming, and monitoring for signs of illness or distress.
- Assists in vaccinations and performs general maintenance tasks such as washing cages/kennels, floors and walls and other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Effective communication in the workplace
- Integrity in dealing with the public and co-workers
- Prior kennel experience is highly preferred
- Experience handling dogs with confidence and compassion
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and assist when necessary
Required:
- Must be 18
- Must have a valid ID
- Shift: 8am-12pm weekdays plus some weekends
- Minimum 3-to-5-hour shifts for approx. 15 hours a week
- Drug screening required
