Our compensation package is very competitive:

● $28.50 - $32.50 per hour, depending on years of experience

What You’ll Do

As a Special Education School Bus Driver, you’ll safely transport students while providing high-quality, consistent communication with dispatch and school partners. You’ll lead by example, promote a positive culture, and help ensure each ride reflects Lake Country’s values of integrity, respect, and grace.

Responsibilities

● Safely drive a bus along a designated route to pick up and drop off students at scheduled stops

● Follow all LCT policies, procedures, and safety standards, including the Pre-Trip Inspection and Smith System concepts

● Arrive at Base on time and prepared for routes (typically: 5:00–7:00 a.m. and 1:00–3:00 p.m.)

● Maintain logs and reports, which may include mileage, fuel consumption, and student counts

● Communicate effectively with parents, scholars, teachers, and colleagues

● Demonstrate leadership, enthusiasm, and professionalism on and off the road

● Keep the interior and exterior of the bus clean and presentable

● Motivate and support fellow team members

● Protect confidentiality and be respectful

● Attend all safety meetings

● Solve problems using integrity, respect, and grace

Education & Qualifications

● Valid CDL or CLP with school bus and passenger endorsements

o Will provide paid behind the wheel training to qualified candidates with current CLP

● Pass Background Check, Clearinghouse, and have compliant MVR (motor vehicle record)

● High School Diploma or GED

● Previous experience driving a school bus preferred but not required

Compensation

● $28.50 - $32.50 per hour, depending on years of experience

● $6,000 Bonus – paid quarterly to qualifying drivers
