POSITION SUMMARY
The Golf Cart Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining golf carts and related recreational equipment. This role ensures all units are safe, reliable, and ready for customer use—supporting both sales and rental operations with high‑quality technical service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Service & Repairs
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on gas and electric golf carts
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and tune‑ups
- Complete battery testing, charging system repairs, and wiring work
- Install accessories such as lights, lift kits, tires, windshields, and seating
- Prepare carts for rental or sale, ensuring safety and performance standards
Operations Support
- Maintain accurate service records and repair logs
- Assist with inventory of parts, tools, and shop supplies
- Coordinate with sales and rental teams to prioritize service needs
- Support seasonal operational changes and equipment preparation
Customer Experience
- Communicate clearly with customers about repairs, timelines, and recommendations
- Provide knowledgeable guidance on golf cart care and upgrades
- Support equipment check‑ins, troubleshooting, and customer questions
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with service and dealership staff to ensure smooth operations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in small engine repair, powersports, marine, automotive, or related fields
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with golf carts (gas & electric) preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, seasonal environment
- Proficiency with basic diagnostic tools and shop equipment
- Valid driver’s license; towing or equipment‑handling experience a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Indoor service shop outdoor lot
- Regular lifting, equipment handling, and hands‑on mechanical work
- Weekend/seasonal hours during peak periods
