Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Hanger and Finisher/Painter with 5 or more years of experience to join our in-house rebuild team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, repairing drywall surfaces and painting across various commercial and residential projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, develop your skills in drywall installation, finishing, and painting, and contribute to high-quality construction outcomes.
Duties
- Measure, cut, hang, and secure drywall panels using hand tools and power tools in accordance with construction plans and schematics
- Apply drywall mud (joint compound) to seams, screw holes, and surface imperfections to create a seamless finish
- Tape joints and corners with drywall tape, ensuring a smooth transition between panels for a flawless appearance
- Sand and texture drywall surfaces to achieve desired finishes, including smooth or textured effects such as stucco or spray textures
- Repair damaged drywall caused by water damage, mold remediation efforts, or general wear and tear
- Brush, roll, and spray a variety of surfaces with paint
- Sand and stain/finish trim
- Follow safety protocols diligently by adhering to construction workplace safety regulations and using personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Collaborate with carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other tradespeople to coordinate installation processes on complex projects involving metal stud framing or masonry elementsQualifications
- Proven experience in drywall installation, taping, mudding, texturing, or related construction work
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings or schematics
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and understanding of construction plans
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as t-squares, utility knives, taping knives, sanding tools, as well as power tools like drills and saws
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations including OSHA standards or local safety laws
