Summary/Objective
The Quality Manager oversees the day-to-day functions of the quality department and ensures compliance with customer specifications and third-party certifications.
Develop and Maintain QMS
- Create the procedures, policies, methods, and standards of our quality system.
- Define metrics that allow the company, lines, and shifts to measure our quality performance and track improvement over time.
- Define and implement system for detecting defects, identifying root causes, and developing sustainable corrective actions without decreasing throughput.
- Ensure that all measurement devices are properly calibrated.
- Where appropriate, determine control parameters for the manufacturing process.
- Where appropriate, help define standards for the quality of vendors’ products or services.
- Drive continuous improvement.
- Develop process for routine checks of parts using the salt spray chamber; manage the testing and recording of this process.
Lead and Train Quality Personnel
- Directly manage and train quality personnel (including inspectors).
- Train production, logistics, and other employees on operating within the quality system.
Serve as Primary Contact with Customers Regarding Quality
- Produce responses to customers’ document requests for new parts (including PPAPs).
- Play the lead role in customers’ audits.
- Manage a timely, effective correction action process, including 1) receiving complains, 2, identify root causes, 3) developing sustainable corrective action, 4) responding to customers, 5) tracking in database.
- Conduct salt spray tests per customer requests.
Ensure Compliance with Critical Third-party Quality Certifications
- Support and maintain ISO certification.

Work Environment
This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. This role works in an office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The performance of this position requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area that requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed footwear while working on manufacturing floor, and other PPE as needed. The noise level is moderate

While performing the duties of this position, the Quality Manager is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, and sitting. The Quality Inspector is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, or bend. The Quality Manager must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time position. Days and typical hours are primarily Monday through Friday on 1st shift.
Travel

Required Education and Experience
Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Three to five years of experience in quality or related field.
Preferred Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
