Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of food items with precision, including grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques
• Follow detailed recipes and menu plans to ensure consistency and quality in every dish
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, grills, ovens, and food processing tools
• Maintain strict food safety standards by adhering to sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices
• Assist in meal assembly and food production for high-volume service periods
• Support the dietary department with meal preparation tailored to specific dietary needs and restrictions
• Ensure cleanliness of workstations and equipment through regular sanitizing procedures in compliance with food safety regulations

Skills

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with strong kitchen skills
• Knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures
• Skilled in various cooking methods such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food preparation techniques
• Experience with menu planning and recipe adherence to maintain quality standards
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under pressure
• Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities and dietary department protocols
• Excellent knife skills and experience in high-volume food production environments
• Strong understanding of food handling regulations and catering processes
• Previous fine dining or catering experience is a plus for delivering exceptional service standards
