Description Of Position
- Performs a variety of technical diagnostic examinations associated with the operation of MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images of any designated portion of the body. Reports directly to the Administrative Director of Radiology and/or Medical Director of Radiology.
- Plan of Care: Performs diagnostic imaging exams as ordered.
- Decision Making: Collects, analyzes and interprets data within the scope of practice.
- Performance Improvement: Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in implementation of PI plan.
- Completes assignments within the time constraints allowed.
- Contributes to a non-discriminating, non-hostile environment.
- Practices safety management. Respects hospital equipment and property.
- Conduct self in a calm and purposeful manner during stressful situations.
- Protects patient information and maintains confidentiality.
Education And Work Experience
- Previous MRI technologist or 2 years of radiological technologist experience preferred.
- Rad Tech license required, ARRT license preferred, LSRT license preferred.
- CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
- Ability to compute proper imaging techniques and contrast media administration.
- Requires emotional stability and resilience.
- Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.
- The physical demands differ according to job responsibilities. Required to stay in a stationary positions as well as ability to move around. The ability to position ones self and/or move equipment is normally required.
- The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk or radiation.
- The employee occasionally is exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Occasionally will need to be able to transport items 20 pounds or more.
- Frequently you will be required to move 1-20 pounds. Frequently you will be required to push or pull 20 or more pounds.
- You would continuously be using your hands and finger for positioning different equipment.
