The equipment manager reports to the golf course superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. This position includes the repair of failing equipment, record keeping,. and placing orders for parts and supplies.
Skills, expertise and traits:
● Experience with diesel and gas engines, basic knowledge of hydraulics, ability to set and grind reels
● Ability to perform heavy work, push/pull up to 100 lbs of force occasionally and 50 lbs frequently
● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
● Ability to work a fast paced environment
.Responsibilities:
● Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment including, diesel- and gasoline-powered tractors, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical equipment used in utility work and golf carts.
● Instructs and/or trains golf course maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment.
● Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work.
● Maintains a preventive maintenance program on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies.
● Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.
● Spot checks equipment for performance on the course, frequently makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use.
● Oversees the shop area maintenance.
● Operates equipment ie mowing, rolling, leaf removal on golf course
● Regulates employees' use of equipment in the absence of the superintendent, if needed, and performs other duties as directed by the superintendent.
Compensation:
● $60,000 annually DOE
● Company health Insurance; per company policy, 70/30 employer/employee split
individual, 60 day wait period
● 401k Retirement account – per company policy, 4% match, 1 year wait period
● Vacation days: five (5 initial starting days)
● Golf privileges at Lake Arrowhead Golf Courses and OGM managed Courses
