Position Summary
Lake Area Technical College is seeking qualified adjunct instructors to teach college transferrable Economics courses, including ECON 201 (Principles of Microeconomics) and/or ECON 202 (Principles of Macroeconomics). Adjunct faculty teach 3–9 credits per semester and are responsible for providing high-quality instruction that promotes student learning and engagement. Economics courses are offered in both online and in-person formats.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach 3–9 credits of ECON 201 and/or ECON 202 each semester.
- Develop and deliver engaging course content aligned with established learning outcomes, using effective instructional strategies to support student success.
- Create and administer assessments, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
- Utilize LATC’s learning management system and other instructional technologies to facilitate effective course delivery and communication.
- Collaborate with faculty colleagues to maintain a cohesive instructional team and ensure consistency in course quality and student outcomes.
- Foster an inclusive and respectful learning environment while adhering to college policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master's Degree with 18 credits in Economics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience.
- Experience teaching in online learning environments.
- Excellent people skills.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fosters and upholds the policies of the college.
- Supervises, instructs, and evaluates students.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Semester-by-semester.
Salary set by the Watertown School Board based on number of credit hours taught. FY26 rate is $1,100 per credit.
