Job Summary:

You will handle a wide range of custom carpentry and high-end home improvement projects. Responsibilities will stretch from structural framing (decks, pergolas, small enclosures) to fine finish carpentry (wainscoting stair railings, and cabinetry). Because we work directly in our clients' primary and vacation homes, the ideal candidate must not only be highly skilled in the remodeling trade but also maintain a clean, polite, and highly professional demeanor at all times.

Core Responsibilities:

• Exterior Carpentry: Build, repair, and install high-quality outdoor structures including custom decks (wood and composite), pergolas, outdoor showers, porches, and carport enclosures.
• Finish & Interior Carpentry: Fabricate and install custom interior features such as built-in bookcases, custom bunk beds, entertainment centers, stair banisters, wainscoting, and architectural trim work.
• Remodeling & General Repairs: Assist with residential remodeling projects, wall cutouts, window/door installations, and miscellaneous high-end handyman repairs.
• Technical Execution: Read and interpret design drawings, technical sketches, or verbal instructions to lay out and execute construction plans with absolute precision.
• Material Management: Accurately measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials (wood, composite, drywall, and plastics), minimizing waste and maintaining high quality control.
• Jobsite Safety & Cleanliness: Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and building codes. Maintain a highly organized, clean, and safe work environment, respecting the homeowner's property at all times.
• Client Relations: Act as a professional representative of Lake Anna Home Solutions on-site, answering basic client questions with courtesy and maintaining a professional appearance.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience: Must have proven and professional experience as a carpenter (both rough/framing and fine finish carpentry).
• Specialized Experience: Prior hands-on experience building custom decks, porches, and interior built-ins is heavily preferred.
• Tools: Proficiency and confidence in operating a wide variety of manual and power tools (miter saws, table saws, routers, pneumatic nailers, measurement layout tools, etc.). Must possess your own basic hand tools of the trade.
• Skills: Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, wood properties, and building code standards. Excellent basic math and measuring skills.
• Independence: Ability to work efficiently both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a crew.
• Physical Fitness: Excellent physical stamina, balance, and strength. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, climb ladders/scaffolding, and work comfortably in varying outdoor weather conditions.
• Logistics: Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation capable of commuting to jobsite's around the Lake Anna region. Must be able to pass a background check.
