What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Male Actor Needed for Keep It Growing: A 2060s Jukebox Musical position at Lain Walls, Playwright?
DESCRIPTION
Seeking a Nonunion Male actor age 30-60 for Keep It Growing: A 2060s Jukebox Musical, presented as part of the Spark Musical Theatre Festival NYC by Emerging Artists Theatre, a festival showcasing new musicals in development.
ABOUT THE SHOW
I’s the first workshop of Keep It Growing: A 60s Jukebox Musical, a new musical commissioned by the National Theatre Project, the state-funded theatre of future fascist America. All-in-all, the play draws a line between vapid, thoughtless art, and an authoritarian future.
Keep It Growing is a satirical, speculative, near-future musical about the relationship between art and politics, exploring how theatre can uphold power, suppress dissent, and help authoritarianism flourish.
ROLE: SENATOR HENNSHAW
A powerful political figure whose presence looms over the workshop performance. Intense and in control. A supporting role requiring a strong stage presence and an ability to convey authority. No singing.
COMMITMENT DETAILS
Required rehearsals the evenings of October 27 and November 3. Show on November 4. A base stipend of $50 will be paid.

Please send a headshot, résumé, a monologue of any kind, and a brief note about your availability to [email protected]. Please put KEEP IT GROWING somewhere in the subject.
