Role: (Mechanical/Piping)/Project Engineer
Location: Spring, TX
Executive Summary
The Embedded Field Engineer (Mechanical/Piping) will provide technical support for the operations and maintenance of pipeline, tank farm, and fuels terminal assets. This role serves as the critical link between on-site activities and the offshore engineering team in Bengaluru, India.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of field engineering experience in the piping/mechanical discipline.
- Design/Drafting curriculum completion from an accredited institution (preferred).
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary conduit for inputs and field information to the offshore engineering team in India.
- Support facility projects across terminals, tank farms, pipelines, and salt dome storage facilities.
- Participate in all project phases: scope definition, engineering design, HAZOP, estimates, procurement, scheduling, and construction.
- Conduct field verification, walk-downs, and data gathering (dimensions, reference points, existing installations) to ensure accuracy for fabrication and construction.
- Facilitate project kickoffs and steward technical discussions with site engineers, ensuring timely communication of all project details.
- Coordinate with business unit stakeholders, local vendors, and the offshore design team for evolving project needs.
- Perform random quality assurance audits for critical documents.
- Obtain Purchase Orders/Job codes before project initiation.
- Publish project metrics and progress reports; serve as single point of contact for the India engineering team.
- Provide occasional vendor/construction coordination and project data gathering.
- Share learnings and feedback with the India team for continuous improvement.
- Domestic travel with occasional overnight stays required.
Preferred Knowledge
- Pumps, piping, valves, flow meters, tanks, salt domes, flares, docks, foundations, structures, and other mechanical/civil-related assets.
- High-level understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems (for interface purposes).
