Position: Mainframe Tester

Location: Alpharetta, GA // Berkeley Heights, NJ  (Onsite role)

 

Mainframe Backend Tester is responsible for testing batch jobs, online transactions, databases, and integrations on IBM mainframe systems. The role focuses on functional testing, data validation, regression testing, and batch monitoring across core mainframe technologies.

 

Perform backend testing of mainframe applications (batch and online).

Validate batch jobs (JCL) execution, scheduling, dependencies, and restart/recovery.

Execute functional, regression, system, and integration testing.

Perform data validation using DB2, IMS-DB, VSAM, and flat files.

Analyze batch job failures (ABENDs) and verify corrective actions.

Test COBOL/PL-I programs and ensure correct business logic execution.

Validate CICS online transactions and screen flows.

Perform file comparison and reconciliation between source and target systems.
