Position: Second Shift Working Foreman
Reports to: Press Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Department: Press
Location/Shift: Burlingame, CA / Swing Shift
Essential Function:
The Second Shift Working Foreman, working in conjunction with the Press Feeder, assists in the production of high-quality printing jobs, to meet customer and company expectations, in a cost-effective manner while meeting strict deadlines, on one of several large printing presses. The Second Shift Working Foreman will also oversee Second Shift production in the plant in all departments and be a go-to person for any issues or challenges that may arise during the shift.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience running a 6-color press with aqueous coating (Heidelberg Press experience preferred). Some supervisory experience a plus.
Job Duties and General Expectations:

- Communicate effectively with manufacturing personnel
- Have basic knowledge of computers (knowledge of Pace is a plus)
- Keep accurate and complete daily records for data collection
- Meet company and departmental standards, including: Customer Requirements, Compliance, Safety, Quality, etc.
- Follow Lahlouh ISO Quality Procedures and Work Instructions, and complete forms and checklists as necessary
- Follow Lahlouh policies outlined in the company handbook
- Work overtime and weekends, as business needs dictate
- Perform other duties as required
- Attend department and company meetings
- Assist in training new and temporary employees
- Complete understanding of LAB values and knowledge of Heidelberg Image Control is a plus.
- An eye for quality when inspecting samples to ship to the customer.
- Ability to achieve proper registration, ink and water balance and maintain color balance throughout job
- Working knowledge of dot gain, proper trap, inks and coatings and how they work with a multitude of substrates
- An understanding of plate curves and how they affect the CT in ¼ tone, mid tone and ¾ tone values
- Ability to retrieve JDF files, and to preset the CPC 2000 and set up press the most efficient way
- Good eye for color and be able to match proofs
- Assist clients and Sales Department with press checks
- Approval of production runs
- Knowledge and ability to hang blankets and plates, and to pack press properly
- Knowledge of the Alcolor Water System and Vario Roller Hickey Picking System
- Working knowledge of the Technotrans Cooling and Water System
- Assist Press, POD, Finishing and LF Departments with job approval of production run when needed
- Keen eye for detail when approving employee time sheets
- Assist Press room manager with monthly cycle counts
- Work with scheduling and Press room manager on equipment schedules for Press, POD, Finishing and LF
- Be able to work at a high production rate in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds on occasion
- Ability to operate motorized pallet jack and/or forklift (certification may be required)
- High school graduate/GED
- $36.00/hr - $38.00/hr
