FULL TIME HOURS AVAILABLE
POSITION OVERVIEW
Clean guest rooms as assigned, ensuring the hotel’s established standards of
cleanliness. Responsible for reporting any maintenance deficiencies and handling
guest’s requests or complaints. Ensure the confidentiality and security of all guest
rooms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Clean assigned guest rooms by priority.
• Transport cart with cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens to assigned guest room and position securely.
• Empty trash containers and recycling bins.
• Remove all dirty terry and replace with clean par to designated layout.
• Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up, and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower walls, bathtub, shower curtain, and floor.
• Replace dirty bed linen and make the bed with clean linen.
• Replace laundry bags and slips.
• Clean closets and door tracks on check-out rooms, removing dust and debris. Ensure the correct amount and placement of hangers, extra blankets/pillows, and other amenities.
• Dust and polish all furniture, pictures, frames, mirrors, light bulbs and switches, TV and remote
• Open all drawers/doors in check-out rooms and remove items left by guests. Dust inside.
• Check under bed(s), chairs, and sofa for debris and remove if present.
• Inspect the condition of all furniture for tears, rips, or stains; report any damages to maintenance.
• Remove dust, spots, and smears from all doors, drapes, windows, ledges, frames, baseboards, AC units, corners, and telephones.
• Inspect the condition of amenities in desk, drawers, and guest service directory; replace designated amounts at proper locations in the room.
• Ensure the presence of fire safety, rate cards, and DND signs. Inspect condition and replace as needed.
• Vacuum throughout the entire room and spray the room with deodorizer.
• Ability to exert physical effort consistently with cleaning an industry standard number of rooms per shift (approximately 14-16 standard rooms).
NOTE: This description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Other related duties may be assigned as required in addition to the principal duties outlined above.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition, this position may require you to perform additional tasks as needed, determined by the manager based upon the requirements of The Ranch at Laguna Beach’s guests and team members' requests.
• Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products and equipment to adhere to health standards.
• Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Education and Licensing:
• High school or equivalent education required. Must have a valid driver's license to operate golf carts.
Skills and Experience:
• Prior hospitality experience desired.
Grooming:
• All team members must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per The Ranch standards.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Must be able to speak and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of The Ranch operations, its services, and facilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Most work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Indoor temperature is moderate and controlled by The Ranch environmental systems. The Ranch at Laguna Beach does not have control of weather for outdoor conditions. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions including but not limited to: extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other team members.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
OTHER
Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position. Irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the fluctuation in business levels in the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of The Ranch. In addition, attendance is required at all scheduled training sessions and meetings.
Upon employment, all team members are required to fully comply with company rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of The Ranch’s facilities. Team members who violate The Ranch rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
