Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Service Technician to join our team in maintaining and repairing equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulic systems, HVAC/R equipment, and precision measuring instruments. The Service Technician will ensure optimal operation of industrial systems, perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, and support field service operations. A strong focus on customer service, safety, and technical excellence will drive success in this vital role.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using schematics, electrical testing tools such as ammeters and ohmmeters, and analysis skills.
- Operate and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure machinery meets quality standards.
- Conduct repairs involving welding (including
welding), low voltage, high voltage, and electrical systems. - Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, maintenance activities, and equipment history.
- Support field service activities by traveling to customer sites or manufacturing facilities to perform on-site repairs or installations.
- Assist in the interpretation of schematics and technical manuals for complex industrial systems such as HVAC/R, industrial mechanics, and low/high voltage electrical circuits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in an industrial mechanic or maintenance role within a manufacturing facility.
- Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, and industrial electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with industrial maintenance tools including schematics, precision measuring instruments, ammeters, ohmmeters, and welding equipment.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience with CMMS software for maintenance tracking is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to high voltage, low voltage electrical work, and field service operations.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with effective analysis skills for diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical issues.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with industrial electrician tasks such as working with high voltage or low voltage systems.
- Additional qualifications include experience in HVAC/R repair, use of scissor lifts or other lifting equipment, and familiarity with military or industrial technician standards is a plus.
