What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freelance E-Commerce Photographer position at LAGOM?
ABOUT LAGOM
LAGOM is a brand house building modern consumer products at the intersection of design, innovation, and culture. We operate multiple digital-first brands and focus on creating scalable, design-driven products that elevate everyday experiences.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a skilled freelance product photographer to shoot high-quality imagery for our brands, with a strong focus on WEDAY, our primary brand known for premium, modular smoking accessories that blend function, aesthetics, and self-expression.
You'll work directly with our Creative Director and design team to capture clean, styled product shots and lifestyle imagery that can be used across our website, paid ads, and social channels. This is a recurring freelance opportunity — we're looking to build an ongoing relationship with a photographer who can shoot with us on a regular cadence as new product drops and campaigns come up.
PORTFOLIO is required. Applications without one will not be considered.
What You’ll Do
Shoot Execution
- Shoot clean, styled product photography (glass, silicone, and mixed-material products) for ecommerce listings
- Capture lifestyle and in-use imagery featuring models/products in styled environments
- Shoot content specifically for paid ads and social-first formats (square, vertical, platform-optimized crops)
- Photograph and film new collections, bundles, and limited drops on a rolling basis
- Deliver both raw and lightly edited/color-corrected files ready for our design team to finish
Creative Collaboration & Support
- Work from creative briefs and moodboards provided by the Creative Director and marketing team
- Coordinate on shot lists, styling, props, and lighting setups ahead of each shoot
- Bring a point of view on composition, lighting, and trends relevant to ecommerce/DTC brands
- Communicate clearly on timelines and turnaround for deliverables
Requirements
- 2 years of professional experience in product and/or lifestyle photography, ideally with images shot for ecommerce websites (product listings, hero images, detail shots)
- Own professional camera equipment
- Strong portfolio demonstrating clean, well-lit product photography — no glass or smoking-accessory experience required
- Experience shooting for both organic social and paid ad content
- Comfortable directing models/talent during lifestyle shoots (or collaborating with a stylist/art director on set)
- Reliable, organized, and able to turn around edited selects quickly
- Based in or near Los Angeles, able to shoot on-site at our studio
Nice to Have
- Experience photographing glass, reflective, or other detail-oriented/tricky-to-light products
- Experience photographing cannabis-adjacent, lifestyle, or design-forward consumer products
- Basic retouching/color grading skills (Lightroom/Photoshop)
Compensation
- Freelance day rate, commensurate with experience and portfolio (open to discussing per-shoot vs. day-rate structure)
- Potential for ongoing/recurring work based on fit and product launch cadence
