Lagom Home (www.lagomhome.co) is seeking a highly reliable, detail-oriented, tech-savvy on-the-ground property manager to oversee a furnished monthly rental property in Malibu (near the Getty Villa).
The owner is not based in California and requires a trusted local presence to handle in-person inspections, quality control, maintenance coordination, and urgent guest issues as they arise.
This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, calm under pressure, highly organized, communicative, used to documenting work, and comfortable working independently with significant responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
Property Oversight & Inspections
- Inspect the property after each guest departure
- Quality-check cleaner work and ensure standards are met
- Identify, document, and report any damage or issues immediately
- Ensure the home is properly maintained and guest-ready at all times
- Keep owner up-to-date
Maintenance & Repairs
- Organize, supervise, and verify maintenance and repair work
- Perform light handyman tasks (changing batteries, light bulbs, basic troubleshooting)
- Source, manage, and supervise vendors
- Create and maintain an approved vendor list
Guest Support & Emergencies
- Be on call for urgent guest issues (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
- Respond to time-sensitive issues within minutes to hours
- Communicate with guests as needed in a professional, calm manner
Operations & Documentation
- Maintain inventory of household supplies
- Track all work, inspections, and issues in Asana
- Communicate primarily via Slack and WhatsApp
- Document and report damage with photos and written summaries
- Send damage reports and follow up as needed
Technology & Systems
- Troubleshoot smart home systems (Ring, Alexa, Wi-Fi, etc.)
- Research solutions independently using Google, ChatGPT, and other tools
- Make thoughtful recommendations when problems arise
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management (Airbnb/short-term rental experience strongly preferred)
- Extremely detail-oriented and highly trustworthy
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
- Calm, capable, and resourceful in high-stress or urgent situations
- Tech-savvy (Slack, Asana, basic computer systems)
- Customer service experience preferred
- Real estate or facilities knowledge preferred
- Eye for design and care for high-end homes is a plus
Schedule & Location
- On-call availability required for emergencies (no fixed schedule)
- Some work can be done remotely
- In-person property visits required as needed (typically at least once per month and after guest stays)
- Must be local to Malibu / West LA area or able to get there quickly
Compensation
- $30/hour weekdays 8am-6pm. $40/hour nights, weekends, and holidays.
