Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science field or higher degree
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Strong knowledge of network topologies
Experience in installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Microsoft operating systems and applications
Ability to interface with all levels of administrative and campus personnel
Ability to follow and carry out complex instructions/tasks; ability to work independently under specified objectives
Must satisfactorily pass the Lafourche Parish School Board pre-employment medical examination
Knowledge and administration of windows servers and Microsoft Active Directory user policies
Knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems, WMware, Backup and Recovery Systems, Routers and switches, SAN
Solutions, wireless technology, firewalls, security products and Microsoft Exchange email administration
Knowlege of Microsoft SQL, preferred
Knwolege of Windows Scripting (Powershell, VBScript), preferred
Knowlege of HTML, preferred

Specific Job Duties
1. Maintain user object configurations, permission and policies using functions of Active Directory and related applications.
2. Implement effective desktop security systems designed to maximize stability of workstations while minimizing impact on instruction.
3. Support maintenance of user databases not associated with Active Directory.
4. Provide support for all district applications.
5. Sustain version upgrades to server and workstation operating systems.
6. Maintain operation and accuracy of all virus protection software on all computer systems.
7. Maintain Internet content filtering and email security filter.
8. Identify, analyze and report research findings to promote improvement of district technology.
9. Assess when hardware and software need to be upgraded and make appropriate recommendations for purchase.
10. Implement and maintain network security so that business, student data and communications are secure.
11. Implement and maintain virus protection and backups for the servers to prevent loss of data and damage of hardware and software.
12. Maintain an effective system of communication between 3rd party vendors to support department initiatives and perform system maintenance.
13. Maintain Google for Education suite and policy management for the district.
14. Promote departmental culture of customer service through frequent communication, positive relationships and prompt support.
15. Assist with the selection and purchase of equipment, software and supplies as needed.
16. Provide occasional technical training sessions as required to instruct technical staff.
17. Assist with management of facilities to ensure they are clean, orderly and safe.
18. Maintain accurate documentation of user configurations, application versions and other significant areas of responsibility.
19. Demonstrate the ability to plan, lead projects, organize and act independent of direct supervision.
20. Maintain an effective system of communication between central office staff, district technicians and campus technology specialists.
21. Assist school personnel with proper utilization of data processing resources.
22. Perform other duties as assigned by the IT Manager or Superintendent.

Terms of Employment
7 ½ hours per day – 12 months (240 days)
There shall be a probationary period of 90 days from date of employment for new employees. After 90 days, a decision based upon an evaluation will be rendered in regards to the employee’s status as a permanent employee.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of non- instructional personnel
The Superintendent reserves the right to change the job and any other duties, as required, with advance written notification.
*Annual Salary is based on years of experience (0-40), with increases for advanced degrees.
