SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Residential Services Coordinator, the House Manager is responsible for coordinating habilitation and program services for the residents of the home, daily operation of the home and management of personnel and property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Group Home according to established policies and procedures pertaining to resident care.
- Monitor, educate and assist residents in performance of activities of daily living in accordance with goals and problem area identified on individualized treatment plan. Meets with the Residential Services Coordinator, Director, and nurses regularly and on an “as needed” basis on matters relevant to resident life and progress
- Participate in continuing education activities, remaining knowledgeable in areas related to the focus of the residential program
- Attend meeting as appropriate and meet regularly with supervisor and peers to exchange pertinent information and to receive supervision
- Maintain client and program records in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
- Interact appropriately with any and all visitors, family members, advocates, community agencies and care providers of residents
- Carry out responsibilities pertaining to the efficient and therapeutic operation of the facility, including all events, activities and outings, utilizing safety management, emergency procedures and non-violent crisis intervention
- Assist with inventory and general maintenance of supplies, facilities and equipment. Notifies maintenance of any needed repairs beyond scope of responsibility or capabilities
- Responsible for purchases of food and other supplies. Assesses house expenses
- Perform cleaning duties as assigned by supervisor
- Interact with recipients in a confidential, therapeutic, and responsible manner maintaining a high level of ethical conduct
- Manage crisis and emergency situations involving residents
- Transport residents to and from appointment, groups and other activities
- Directly supervises the Direct Support Professionals in the performance of their duties
- Assists in the hiring of staff as requested. Ensures that the Group Home is properly staffed at all times. Responsible for creating and updating work schedules
- Conducts annual performance reviews of staff. Conducts disciplinary interviews as needed up to and including terminations as per established guidelines
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma/GED or 5 years Direct Support Professional experience in a residential setting
- Flexibility to work any shift preferred
- Oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in educating clients in daily living skills
- Observation and decision making skills
- Experience in implementing group activities helpful
- Willingness to use personal transportation in work capacity
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Maintain a valid Louisiana Drivers License
- Maintain current CPR certification
- Maintain Direct Service Worker Registry Certification
