Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Body Shop Production Manager to oversee the collision repair department’s daily operations. This role involves managing workflow, ensuring timely and quality repairs, and coordinating with technicians, estimators, parts staff, and insurance partners. Strong leadership and excellent communication skills are essential to successfully manage the team and department goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily production schedule and repair workflow to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Monitor cycle times, productivity, and quality control metrics for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with estimators, parts department, and technicians to prevent delays.
- Ensure repair procedures follow OEM standards and proper guidelines.
- Maintain effective relationships with insurance partners and customers.
- Conduct quality inspections before vehicle delivery.
- Track key performance indicators, profitability, and overall department performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop body shop staff to foster a skilled and motivated team.
- Promote a safe and compliant work environment.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting, standing, and walking on a regular basis.
- Bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting frequently.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs infrequently; reaching and lifting overhead regularly.
- Climbing stairs and performing repetitive hand movements.
- Grasping, pushing, and pulling as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in body shop or production management.
- Strong knowledge of collision repair processes and estimating systems.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple vehicles and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- I-CAR certifications are a plus.
- Experience in a dealership environment preferred.
