Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carpenter Apprentice to join our dynamic construction team. Duties
- Assist skilled carpenters with framing, trim work, siding, cabinet installation, door hanging, and other carpentry tasks.
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to support project execution.
- Operate hand tools such as hammers, saws, chisels, and measuring devices safely and effectively.
- Use power tools for woodworking and construction purposes, including drills, saws, sanders, and CNC machines.
- Support the installation of fixtures, mold remediation efforts, roofing components, flooring, tile laying, and drywall finishing.
- Participate in heavy lifting and material handling of wood construction materials and other building supplies.
- Follow safety protocols related to power tool use, scaffolding setup, power tool safety standards, and site safety procedures.
Requirements
- Prior construction experience or hands-on work in carpentry or woodworking is preferred but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is essential.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of various carpentry disciplines such as residential carpentry, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, masonry, plastering, caulking, stucco application, and restoration work.
- Experience with woodworking machines and fabrication techniques is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of safety practices related to power tools for woodworking and construction site safety standards.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret technical instructions clearly.
