About the Role

LAFCU is seeking an experienced Loan Officer to join our Loan Services team. In this role, you’ll evaluate, process, and approve consumer and real estate loan applications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional member service. You’ll play a key role in helping members achieve their financial goals while supporting the overall lending operations of the credit union.


What You’ll Do

  • Review and analyze member applications for consumer and real estate loans

  • Approve or deny loans within established policies and guidelines

  • Evaluate applicants’ financial status, credit reports, and collateral

  • Process loan extensions, payoffs, lien terminations, and releases of collateral

  • Cross-sell LAFCU products and services to support member needs

  • Maintain accurate loan files and prepare reports as needed

  • Provide financial counseling and information to members


What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education in finance or business preferred

  • At least 5 years of experience in consumer lending, including real estate lending

  • Working knowledge of loan compliance regulations (Reg B, Reg Z, HMDA, RESPA, Fair Lending)

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills

  • Proficiency with PCs and Microsoft Office applications

  • Commitment to delivering outstanding member service
