We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our outstanding team. This position assists in the planning and directing activities within the Accounting department of the Hotel by performing the following duties personally while ensuring all of the hotels’ high quality standards are met.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll. Assists in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.Prepares invoices and operating checks. Assists in the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.Oversee daily reconciliation of all transactions, including income audits, Assists in directing internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.Assist in establishing system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.W-9 and Certificate of Insurance collections.Oversees and Supervises the Accounting Clerk. Compiles payroll data such as gratuities, bonuses, and Banquet Fees.Assists in preparing all final paychecks to ensure all terminated employees are paid properly and within Federal and State laws.Prepares and distributes paychecks.All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the facility.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists in the supervision of employees in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Hotel’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting the controller with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. College degree is preferred. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
