Lafayette Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated public relations specialist to support impactful projects for our federal clients, with a focus on providing support to groups that engage with government, industry, and general public stakeholders. This role is ideal for a candidate who excels in understanding the cybersecurity mission and making an impact with relevant stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be an adept, creative public relations specialist with a balance of strong critical thinking, writing, and communication skills. This position will involve working closely with project leads to understand program needs and produce and execute public relations plans that clearly communicate and promote key messages related to cybersecurity programs, services, and solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop thoughtful public relations plans that reflect the needs of a client’s external affairs organization in a manner that enhances communications and outreach to state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) entities responsible for critical infrastructure and cybersecurity
- Plan the strategic direction and development of comprehensive PR campaigns
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Public Relations (PR), Communications, or related field
- 5 years of experience as a public relations specialist
- Strong interpersonal skills
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust
Desired Skills
- Experience working with management consulting clients or similar experience
- Prior experience with critical infrastructure and / or cybersecurity missions
Location: Hybrid / Client-site (Northern VA);
Desired Start Date: 10/5/2026
Salary Range: $70K -$80K
