Lafayette College, a highly selective, private liberal arts college of 2,700 undergraduates, located in the picturesque Lehigh Valley and the historic city of Easton, PA, plans to employ a Guest Relations Coordinator to welcome visitors to the College.
The Guest Relations Coordinator is the first person most prospective students and their families meet when they visit Lafayette. The person in this position is a key player in providing a warm welcome for families while also ensuring all aspects of the college visit, from the tour to the interview to finding lunch close by, goes as smoothly as possible. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong customer service skills who can quickly prioritize competing interests and work collaboratively with our visitation team, all while maintaining a positive demeanor.
General responsibilities for the Guest Relations Coordinator include:
- Welcome visitors to Lafayette College weekdays 8:45 am – 5 pm during the academic year and 8:15 am to 4:30 pm during the summer. Occasional weekend work expected.
- Gain a working knowledge of Slate CRM to check in visitors and perform related data entry tasks.
- Provide directions and answers to questions to all visitors who enter the Welcome Center.
- Provide College-wide information about using the Welcome Center space.
- Work with student employees and other staff members to restock the visitor center, compile information for special events and reconfigure the space for special events.
- Collaborate with other departments for Welcome Center needs and usage.
- Collaborate with department staff to oversee training and management of student employees.
- Recalculate GPAs for student applications during high volume times.
- Support the daily operations for ambassadors, including but not limited to:
– Assisting the Visitation Coordinator with student ambassador management
– Assisting in daily logistics for the Student Interview process
– Approving student worker payroll
- Strong customer service and organizational skills, plus a friendly demeanor are essential to this position
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick decisions
- Willingness to take direction and learn new computer skills
- Desire to pay attention to details and get them correct
- Readiness to interact with the public during business hours
- Experience with Slate CRM, Microsoft Word and Excel or Google Sheets, Docs or Forms a bonus
- High School Diploma Required
